It is based on Japanese manga series, Yamada Tarō Monogatari written by Ai Morinaga. It was produced by Comic Ritz International Production and Chai Zhi Ping as producer. It was boardcasted in Taiwan on free-to-air Chinese Television System from 11 August 2001.
