minutes SING has been killed. MUI requests that she leaves on her own, and returns to the execution ground as soon as TETSUYA has left. The guerrillas are working to dig out possible survivors when she returns. YEUNG and his colleagues offer sacrifice to SING at the police station. FAN is not pleased. KAT encourages his colleagues to stand against him. YEUNG asks CHING about her relationship with TATSUYA, but she does not answer him directly. MUI has failed to keep her promises of making more money for the Japanese army. TETSUYA is so angry that he gives her an ultimatum. There is an air raid when MUI is on her way home and so she goes to the bomb shelter instead. There she sees KWAN and WAH acting intimately. TETSUYA makes a sudden visit, accusing MUI of putting off the poppies growing project. He decides to send her to a concentration camp so as to force her to figure out a way to boost the profits.
